According to the Nigerian Tribune Tragedy struck at the Lateef Jakande Housing Estate in Mile 2 area of Lagos State, early Wednesday, as three children of same parents were burnt to death in an inferno.
There parents had reportedly locked the deceased up in the apartment to attend a church programme when the incident occurred.
The fire was said to might have started from a lit candle, which the children reportedly left glowing when they went to bed.
The deceased, who were all of same parents were sleeping when the fire ravaged their home at Block 56 of the Lagos Estate.
The incident created serious pandemonium, as residents were abruptly woken up from the sleep by the cries and agony of the children.
The Nigerian Tribune gathered that the fire completely destroyed the topmost floor of the building, burning apartments,which included the residence of the victims lost to the inferno.
The arrival of fire fighters from the Lagos State Fire Service, however, prevented the raging inferno from spreading to other apartments in the block and other buildings in the estate.
A resident of the estate, told the Nigerian Tribune that the fire had completely engulfed the whole building before residents could do anything.
She added that the residents did not know that the parents of the children were not around and neither did they know that the children were in the burnt building.
The Director of the Lagos State Fire Service, while confirming the incident, stated that fire fighters from Isolo and Sari Iganmu were drafted to the area with 10 000 litres of water truck.
The fire service boss advised parents not to lock their children inside their apartment whenever they were going out and also advised that residents should also not lit candle when they go to bed.

This is what we are talking about, if our power sector is in order this wouldn't have happened.......I wonder the current situation of the parents, Anyway nobody can question God cos he knws best.
