Crystal Palace have completed the signing of Nigerian foward, Shola Ameobi on a free transfer after he left Turkish club Gaziantep last month.
The former Newcastle forward left Newcastle last year after 14 years at St James’ Park and joined Gaziantep in August, only to leave four months later after failing to settle. He told the club’s official website: I’m very excited to be here, I wanted to get back in the Premier League and having worked with the manager before it’s been great to come back and hopefully help us avoid the relegation battle.” Crystal Palace are currently in 13th place in the Premier League, four points above the relegation zone and has as its manager Alan Pardew who was the former manager at Newcastle.
