Bomb blast kills 26 in Biu in Borno and Jos states in Nigeria

It was reported that twelve people were killed while 23 others sustained injuries as suicide bombers attacked Biu town of Biu Local Government Area of Borno State.
The two bombers, suspected to have come from one of the IDPs camp on Miringa road in Biu, also died in the attack.
Also the city of Jos was thrown into confusion on Thursday following twin explosion that rocked Bauchi road axis of the state capital leading to the death of no fewer than fourteen people while many other sustained various degrees of injuries.
It was learnt that the first explosion occurred close to the main entrance of Bauchi road motor park at about 6.09 p.m when a vehicle with about three occupants on a high speed suddenly made abrupt stopped at the entrance of the motor park while one of the occupants threw a bag containing explosives in the midst of those selling and waiting at the entrance to the park.
A resident of Biu, said the woman detonated the explosive at a crowded area, killing scores with seven others sustaining injuries.
According to her, the incident took place at the crowded area of Tashan Gandu (meeting points of famers on hired labour) in Mbulamyel ward of Biu town around 3:00p.m.
An eye witness told Nigerian Tribune that the bag landed with a bang which caused commotion within the vicinity and killed virtually all those that were at the entrance, especially those selling fruits and other items while several vehicles were damaged.
It caused serious commotion that those inside the park ran helter-skelter, abandoning their properties and other valuables at the scene.
While people were scampering for safety and victims writhing in pains another explosion occurred few meters away to the scene, close to the main gate of the Bauchi road campus of the University of Jos.
Students who escaped the second explosion narrowly said the explosion went off at a makeshift motor park opposite the entrance leading to the Pharmaceutical Department of the University when people were trying to find out the cause of the first explosion at Bauchi park close to the second scene of the incident.
