Good morning everyone...welcome to a band new week. Thanking God for Nigeria's elections.....it was averagely peaceful. In Lagos the APC candidate fro the governorship election emerged winner of the election over the two time contestant Jimi Agbaje.
   Some of the winners of the governorship elections in various states in Nigeria have been announced while the result for IMo state have been declared inconclusive while Rivers state is controversial.
Then in football......the Manchester derby which saw Manchester united triumph over their Manchester counterpart Manchester City by 4:2. This have put city in a precarious situation where they will fight to qualify for the champions league next season.

Well, for Chelsea Fc who struggled to win the game against Queens park ranger over the weekend is slated to face Manchester united at Stamford bridge. It is a game to watch! Will Luis van gaal triump over his protégé or will Jose mourhino...the maestro of Big games win over his former boss?

THE STAGE IS SET FOR THE LAGOS GUBERNATORIAL ELECTION TOMORROW!!!!

Yes, the stage is set for the governorship elections in the mega city of Lagos. The seat of economical power. And after months of campaigns, debates showcasing their various manifestos, plans for Lagos and its residents....it is now time for the people to go out on Saturday (tomorrow) to cast their votes for who they want to rule them for the next four years.
 VERSUS 
The two most prominent candidates from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressive Congress (APC) and other candidates will slug it out tomorrow at the polls to determine if there would be change as it occurred in the Presidential elections or continuity!
It has been a race of words, strength, ideas...........................and at the finish line....who will be the winner?
And please remember...lets vote and not fight! Peace in Lagos , Peace in Nigeria and Peace in the world!!!!!

SUPER EAGLES OF NIGERIA DRAWN IN GROPU G WITH THE PHARAOHS OF EGYPT IN AFCON QUALIFIERS.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria and Egypt were drawn together with the pharaohs of Egypt in the highlights of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying draw made Wednesday in Cairo.
The Eagles and the Pharaohs of Egypt are in Group G with Tanzania and Chad, and the Cameroonians and South Africans in Group M with Gambia and Mauritania.
Egypt have won the biennial Cup of Nations tournament a record seven times, Cameroon four times, Nigeria three times and South Africa once.
Only the 13 group winners are guaranteed places at the January-February 2017 tournament in Gabon with just the best two runners-up also going through.
Defending champions Cote d’ Ivoire face Sudan and Sierra Leone in Group I, which also includes Gabon.However, matches against automatic qualifiers Gabon count as friendlies with no points awarded. Ghana, who won their African Cup of Nations title 33 years ago, are in Group H with Mozambique, Rwanda and Mauritius.
Morocco were originally barred from the 2017 qualifiers after refusing to host the
tournament this year because they feared supporters could bring the deadly Ebola virus into the country.
But the north African kingdom successfully appealed against the ban to the Switzerland-based Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
The Moroccans were placed in Group F with the Cape Verde Islands, Libya and Sao Tome e Principe.

AFCON 2017 - GABON TO HOST THE EVENT!

Gabon have been chosen to host the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations finals.

The 2012 co-hosts won a vote by the Confederation of African Football's executive committee in Cairo on Wednesday ahead of Algeria and Ghana.

It will be the second time as hosts for the country, which is located on the west coast of Africa, having previously shared duties with Equatorial Guinea.

Original hosts Libya, where a civil war has halted football, withdrew last year from staging the tournament.

Gabon will use four venues for the 16-team tournament, which will be played in January and February.

They will be in Libreville and Franceville, which were used in 2012, plus Port Gentil and Oyem where the stadiums will be ready in 14 months, Gabon Football Federation officials said.
The Gabonese Republic is a sovereign state on the west coast of Central Africa. Located on the equator, Gabon is bordered by Equatorial Guinea to the northwest, Cameroon to the north, the Republic of the Congo on the east and south, and the Gulf of Guinea to the west. It has an area of nearly 270,000 square kilometres (100,000 sq mi) and its population is estimated at 1.5 million people. Its capital and largest city is Libreville.

MAN USING EARPHONE CRUSHED BY TRAIN !

It was gathered yesterday than an unidentified young man with earphone on, was on Wednesday killed by a passenger train at Cappa area of Oshodi, Lagos .The man was standing on the rail track oblivious of the fast approaching train. The train had as usual, sounded its horn repeatedly as it was approaching the railway crossing at Ilupeju Bye-pass for clearance of its track. Apparently the man carried away with either the call he was receiving or listening to music.The man was not aware of the approaching train even as it blasted its horn, perhaps because of the earphone and before he knew it , he was already hit by the train and was not given any chance to escape and Immediately he was hit, the body was mangled as the train dragged it underneath.
This is so sad....people should restrict the use of earphone indoors and not used outside. Often times, people cant even hear the horn from oncoming vehicles when crossing as the earphone is blocking their ears. May the man's soul rest in peace.
Lets all be consciously aware of our environment at all times.

Boko Haram kills Scores of residents of New Marte, Borno state, Nigeria

 It was reported that Boko haram killed scores of resident of a town in Borno state called New marte community yesterday. This happened days after the report of the the Islamic militants killed no fewer than 24 people and left several others injured in an attack near a mosque in Kwajafa village.

It was gathered that the assailants came to the area in different cars late on Sunday and gathered people to a mosque in the remote village, pretending to preach Islam and when they (terrorists) have gathered everybody, they opened fire on them, killing 24 people at a spot while some escaped with bullets wounds.
Please no more killings.....Our government please help! With the recent success stories of the Nigerian Army's fight against terrorist...I taught by now we the onslaught will be reduced or over by now.
